Modeling Developmental Change Workshop 2017 Application

Flux Congress Pre-Meeting Workshop

Modeling Developmental Change: Practical Integration of Advanced Neuroimaging and Statistical Methods

Longitudinal MRI datasets require special consideration for processing and analysis, yet the field as a whole has not standardized best practices for these datasets, which could be one reason why it is difficult to replicate results across laboratories and research studies. A two-day workshop will be open to approximately 60 developmental neuroimaging researchers and will teach best practices for processing, analyzing, modeling, and interpreting longitudinal neuroimaging data. This will help researchers conduct robust and reproducible research on how the brain and cognition change across development.

Location:   Hilton Portland Downtown  (same as Flux Congress 2017)

Dates:  Thursday and Friday, September 14 – 15, 2017 (the two days before Flux Congress)

Cost:  Free. We will offer a limited number of trainee (graduate student or postdoc) scholarships for travel/accommodation costs. Please note that underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged to apply.

Your Hosts:  Funded by NSF, administered by the Department of Psychology, University of Oregon.

Our Team:  Drs. Michelle Byrne, Kate Mills, Jennifer Pfeifer, Nick Allen, and Fred Saab. The current list of facilitators includes Drs. Megan Herting, Bea Luna, Nandita Vijayakumar, Barbara Braams, Eva Telzer, Marc Seal. More to be announced soon.

Due to the limited number of spaces for this workshop, attendees will be asked to apply. Priority will be given to individuals that are working with, or plan to work with, relevant data (i.e., longitudinal structural or functional MRI data). There will also be awards to fund nine trainees (e.g., doctoral students or postdoctoral scholars) who are directly working with longitudinal neuroimaging data, or planning to do so in the near future.

Applications are now closed.
